Cairns is a tourist city and for that reason offers visitors many things to do while they are here on holidays or studying. First and foremost Cairns is the gateway to the Great Barrier Reef and Daintree Rainforest. Both places are Heritage listed and a trip to both is a must do while here. Cairns offers a very large number of tours to both the reef and rainforest for all budgets. |
In addition to the Great barrier Reef and Daintree Rainforest there are activities to interest everyone. There are several cultural shows and museums, including the highly award winning Tjapukai aboriginal park that includes day tours and great shows in the evenings.
Cairns also has hundreds of restaurants catering for a large number of cuisines from around the world. The restaurants vary in price to suit all budgets.
If you are a thrill-seeker then there are many high adrenaline tours such as white water rafting, sky-diving, bunjee jumping, para-sailing, water skiing park, go-kart racing etc.
Or if you like the quieter relaxing tours there are small and large tour operators that can take you all around the Cairns region including the outback and tip of Austalia. We also have a zoo and a wildlife safari park as well as numerous crocodile farms and butterfly sanctuaries.
For the sporting enthusiast there are fishing and crabbing tours, island trips for snorkelling, tennis courts, 10 pin bowling, water park and squash courts.
