Cairns English specialises in offering you value for money English lessons in an English language school unique to Cairns. We are a home English language school that only has 6 students at any time. We offer intensive English courses designed to improve your speaking and listening skills in English. Come and enjoy your English studies living and camping with 2 very qualified and experienced teachers
Our intensive English study modules are 3 weeks of every month. All 3 week study modules include 2 weeks of intensive English lessons and 1 week camping at a beautiful location in the Cairns region. The fee includes 15 hours of lessons a week, twin share accommodation, food for meals, high speed internet, use of bicycle and use of our home school's facilities. These include a fully equipped kitchen, 50" plasma TV, wii game system, DVD's, large barbecue area and an 11 metre swimming pool.
The 15 hours of lessons are taught Monday to Friday; we do not have lessons on weekends or public holidays. Each study day (Monday to Friday) we have 3 hours of intensive English lessons, 2 x 90 minute lessons. The first lesson starts at 9-30am and finishes at 11-00am. We then have a break for 30 minutes so you can have a drink, a swim or just relax. The second lesson begins at 11-30am and finishes at 1-00pm.
Your lessons are finished by 1-00pm every day! This gives you half a day to explore Cairns or if you need to work you can study in the mornings and work in the evening, or just stay at home and enjoy a barbecue by the pool or walk along the beach which is only 5-7 minute walk away..
During the 3 week module you will go camping for 1 week to a beautiful location in the Cairns region. Each module has been timed to include the full moon for that month. Our camping trips are always 3 days before the full moon until 3 days after the full moon.
During the camping trip you will be able to swim, fish, bush walk, play a variety of games including laser tag, volleyball, badmington etc.
We do not have lessons when we are camping. It is a time for you to practice your English out of class. There is no better place to improve your speaking and listening skills than around a camp fire.
We supply all food for your stay with us, including for the camping trip. We do not supply any alcohol. Students are responsible for the cost of any alcohol or personalised food requirements such as MacDonalds, pizza etc. We always have meats, rice, vegetables, fruits, pastas, bread, milk and the everyday requirements for preparing your meals. We understand the requirements of different cultures and stock the necessary foods to make your stay enjoyable. Please remember we will be eating with you most nights and we will be often cooking together.
CAN I STAY LONGER THAN 3 WEEKS?
If you wish to stay with us for a period more than 3 weeks that is great, we would be happy for you to stay as long as you want to. However, your stay must always include a whole 3 week module.
The dates outside of the 3 week modules are supplied on a home-stay style basis. If you have stayed with us for at least 1 x 3 week learing module then you may also extend your stay on a home-stay basis. There is normally 1 -2 weeks between our 3 weeks modules, we offer these dates for students who would like to stay with us a little longer on a home-stay basis only. There are no lessons in these tmes but of course you will get ample opportunity to practice your English living with us.
For example if you stay with us for 12 weeks you will get 6 weeks of intensive English lessons in a group of no more than 6 students. You will also go on 3 x 1 week camping trips to different places in the Cairns region.
Your cost is the 3 week module price (eg. Lake Tinaroo $1500) plus $189 per week ($27 per night) for the nights between each module. This fee includes food for meals and internet etc.

2 weeks of lessons & 1 week camping at Lake TinarooCome and enjoy a week on Lake Tinaroo with us. We have planned the dates on this trip to be the same as the full moon. Not only will this allow us to see better at night time, it is also the best fishing time on the lake.

DAINTREE RAINFOREST TRIP

This trip will include camping in the world heritage rainforest area where we will see many beautiful plants and wildlife. We will visit beautiful beaches and walk through some of the most beautiful rainforest in the world. During our time in the Daintree we will stay one night at the famous PK's Jungle Village.
CAIRNS TABLELANDS TRIP
1 week touring the tablelands regionComing soon
This trip will include camping the first night at a farm that offers horse riding, fishing and beautiful scenerary. We will then move up to the tablelands where we will stay at a couple of different farms. We will see coffee farms, tea plantations, wineries, avocado farms, banana farms and many other places of interest. If you are looking for work in Cairns after you finish studying, this is the ideal trip for you to learn about the farms and what jobs they offer.
CAIRNS LOCAL TRIPS
1 week touring Cairns local regionComing soon
This trip will include visiting a different destination in the local Cairns region each day for a week. Places could include The Lagoon, Crystal Cascades, Tjapukai, Cairns Tropical Zoo, The Botanical Gardens and many other lower priced or free activities which we believe are value for money and interesting.
